"It may in fact be a moth" is a quote taken from one of Brian's favorite YouTube videos. In the video, a Shop At Home salesman held up a photo of a moth and called it a horse until corrected by a producer.
The quote has since been sampled and added to the soundboard.

The salesman, Elliot, appeared on Tosh.0 on June 9, 2010. He explained that he did it intentionally because he was bored, tired, and knew the network was nearing its end.
"What I didn't know is that someone would record that, take that clip, and put it on the Internet."
In response to the popularity of the video and the many callbacks to it, Patrick Delahanty made two parodies. The first, on January 26, 2009, has Brian instead of the moth:
The second, published on February 22, 2010 in response to a request for undiscovered viral videos for NSFW's W1NNER GAM3S, combined the video with the "Amazing Horse" video and song. It won Tom Merritt a gold medal for CNET.
