This week's trick caomes to us all the way from Argentina! It's a simple yet baffling trick you can play on anyone who has an iPhone or an Android phone. First, write down a prediction. Then as your marks for a string of numbers: their birthdate, address, dress size, anything numeric. Multiply them all together. Hit equals, and show them the result. Then show them your prediction: the very same number. Baffling!
Here's the simple part: this trick relies on the fact that the iPhone has a scientific calculator, and thus will multiply first, and then add. What your marks don't know is that you first entered your prediction, hit plus, then zero, then times. Now no matter how many numbers you multiply, they will all be multiplied by zero. And anything times zero is zero. To put it in mathemagical language: 31415902+(0*23*34*53252*anything else)=31415902.
