Listener Questions

Rabidbadger - "Is the reason we can't detect dark matter or dark energy because it is travelling backwards through time?"

  • Brian and Andrew are not nearly smart enough to answer this intelligently.

@Dereckc1 - "What would happen if an infinite power source was discovered, only one can exist.?"

  • Either the people who have it will share it with everyone or else everyone else with fight them over it.
This lead to a discussion about fracking and why people hate it. There are a bunch of documentaries out there that Andrew said are filled with outright lies- one of which is the footage of people setting tap water on fire. That had nothing to do with fracking, some communities just have problems with gas seeping into their tap water.

Eventually the guys started talking about other ways to harness mass amounts of energy like solar panels in space, anti-matter harvesting and Helium-3 on the moon.

@Nebones - "Who would win in a fight, a Minotaur or The Creature from the Black Lagoon?"

  • The Minotaur would win because Brian doesn't really have much for The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

MegaVortex - "When was the last recorded case of ape rape?"

  • Probably right now

@ToucanMonkey - "Have you seen/thought you've seen a UFO? See anything paranormal before?"

  • Andrew has had three UFO experiences. The first was on a road trip with his parents when he was a kid and he was going through Texas and he saw what looked like a floating space ship. The second time Andrew saw something, he was driving at night when he saw a bright row of lights in the sky that seemed to be moving slower than an airplane, eventually it got closer and he realized that it was just the Goodyear Blimp. The third time was when he was driving to San Diego and he saw a giant silver ball rising in the sky. He kept driving and the ball remained in the sky and he found out it was a big tethered balloon that you can go up in for sightseeing at the San Diego Zoo.

Brian also has three experiences One time when Brian was younger he saw what he thought was a full on nuclear explosion rising on the horizon, however moments later he realized that it was just the full moon rising. Earlier in the year Brian was at the airport when he saw a big rectangle in the sky but it was just a sign being pulled by a plane. The third time was when he saw a big disc on the horizon. It turns out it was just a plane coming at him straight on and the sun was just right that he couldn't make out any other features of the plane.

@Iyagovos - "What animal would make the best zombie virus vector, and why?"

  • Brian likes the idea of kittens bringing on the zombie apocalypse, but squirrels would be pretty cool too. Andrew, on the other hand, things that fleas would be the best.

MegaVortex - "Can zombies be racist?"

  • If they could think and were self-aware, then they could be.

SonicPet7 - "Would you rather never sleep or be able to program your brain to learn new things while you sleep?"

  • Brian doesn't sleep well to begin with so he would rather learn things in his sleep.

@NSFWalcohol "How many times a week do you drink?"

  • Like... Water? Everyday. But this lead Andrew to discuss why he doesn't drink alcohol. He isn't against alcohol, and he doesn't care that other people drink it, he is just a control freak and he doesn't want to make dumb decisions.

Gatowag - "Andrew Mayne Stories Podcast?"

  • Andrew: "It's coming back." Brian: "No"

@StacyBee23 - "Where do the both of you see yourselves in 10 years?"

  • In 10 years, Brian sees Andrew as a nationally famous author in 5 years and he will be famous for his movies in 10. In 10 years Andrew sees Brian as a TV personality.

@ToucanMonkey - "If someone discovers that the center of the earth has something amazing, who owns it?"

  • Whoever gets there first and can extract it and monetize it.

8AMUnicorn - "Can we talk about unicorns and how awesome they are?"

  • Yep, they're awesome.

Pick money or love. If you pick money, will have all the money you ever want and will never experience love. If you pick love, you will never have any money but you will be loved for the rest of your life.

  • Brian: Everything you do in life is to attain happiness right? So he would pick love because love and happiness are pretty much the same thing.
  • Andrew: He would definitely consider living a miserable life in order to help the rest of the world out with his vast amounts of cash.

@Blaw91 - Where do you see Justin in 10 years?

  • Brian doesn't really know what Justin wants in life, but maybe he will be a TV writer.
  • Andrew would like to see him take Jimmy Fallon's job.

Tensorguy - "What is your opinion of Ocean colonies?"

  • They're awesome.

Professor Kaos - "How long do you think we have until resources are gone from earth?"

  • NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER
