This is why black people aren't slaves in America

Black people aren't slaves in America is a phrase which was originally sung by Brian Brushwood in an episode of BBLiveShow. During the episode, Brian was discussing a trip to Turkey. A reference to the They Might Be Giants song "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" was made and Brian said that they were not fond of the name Constantinople because of the time in their history which it references. To relate this to American fans, Brian said that it would be the equivalent of having a song in the United States which said, "Black people aren't slaves in America! Black people aren't slaves in America!"

What was just an innocent explanation from Brian was immediately taken out of context by the chat room and put into several videos. The phrase has been repeated in the chat room (and sometimes by the hosts) in many episodes of BBLiveShow after that...especially if OhDoctah is around.

Brian has respectfully asked for videos of him singing this phrase not be uploaded to YouTube. Taken out of context, people could easily get the wrong idea.
