Cold Open

Bri Bri and The Jurbs' super powers featuring Brett Rounsaville.

Jesus, Brian

So Night Attack 3 debuted at #5 on the Billboard Comedy charts. After Justin commented on the amazing year Weird Al is having on the charts, Brian mentioned that Weird Al's parents died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Penny Brushwood Hates Firefly

Earlier in the day Brian showed his 10 year old, Penny, Firefly. She gave up 30 minutes into the first episode because it was "boring". This really upset Brian and he feels as if he's failed as a parent.

This lead to a discussion on the show about whether or not Firefly portrays prostitution in a positive light as well as the other morally ambiguous elements of the show.

However after failing with Firefly, he succeeded in getting her into Cowboy Beebop.

Don't Call it A Zeitgeist

So Google has its year in review thing that used to be called the Google Zeitgeist. It's a list of the most searched topics of the year and Brian and Justin like to go through the lists and comment on each item. So that's what they did!

Here's the link to the Google Year in Search

Four Straight People Struggle to Understand the Complexities of the Trans Community

One of the topics on the Google Year in Review was Conchita Wurst, a bearded lady who won the Eurovision contest. This lead to a lengthy discussion about the trans community and how they don't really understand a lot about the various issues.

Friendly Recommendation

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh maybe next week.

Nerd Cred

Many fans of the show consider themselves nerds, however we all have holes in our nerd resumes. In other words there are some geeky shows/movies/books that we've never seen, but should. For example, Brett hasn't seen the original Star Wars all the way through, because he thinks it's boring.

So some Chatreamers called in to admit to not having experienced some major pieces of pop culture.

There was a lot of discussions about whether or not people should be ashamed of the movies they haven't seen, however there was an interesting talk about whether or not it's wrong to look at Hermione Granger/Emma Watson sexually when the character is underage but the actress is of age.

Hacking the System is Just Around the Corner

Brian's NatGeo TV show, Hacking the System, is only a few weeks away from the official first season premiere. Will they throw a party at Brian's house? Who knows!
