The show is called Hacking the System premiering on February 27th, 2014 at 9pm on the National Geographic Channel. Rock on Brian! To show your support, hit up @NatGeoChannel on Twitter.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson's Tweets

Alright, Neil DeGrasse Tyson is smarter than all of us, and has done WAY more than us in terms of bringing science to the masses, but he's also great at being an elitist jackass on Twitter. So the guys read some of his tweets

  • Felix Baumgartner's "Edge of Space” jump, if scaled to a schoolroom globe, begins 1mm above its surface. I'm just saying.[1]
  • If gridiron were a timeline, w/ Big Bang at one goal, then cavemen to now spans thickness of single turf-blade at other goal.[2]
  • Scientology & Astrology. Just because you can append an “-ology” to a word, does not make it based in objective reality. [3]
  • I only just figured this out: People who watch Animal Planet's "Puppy Bowl" would rather see dogs play football than humans.[4]

A Debate of the Ages

Just before the show recording Bill Nye and some creationist dude, had a debate about evolution. Unfortunately the correct position was not determined and no minds were changed. Ehh, maybe next time. Inspired by this historic event Brian, Justin and Ron are going to hold a debate on an even more controversial: Android vs. iOS.

Position - Defender - (accent)

Android - Ron

  • If you want an open platform that gives you control over your device, Android is for you.

iOS - Brian

  • Why am I wasting my time with this debate?

Android - Ron - (whispering)

  • He finally got a haircut

iOS - Brian

  • Jesus, no wonder he isn't at Revision3 anymore

Android - Brian

  • I love crappy things. I smear poop against the wall and lick it.

iOS - Ron

  • Ohh sorry I was too busy following the crowd.

iOS - Ron - (as a New Yorker)

  • Android is the best buy, with my high rent.

Android - Brian - (as a stereotypical Texan)

  • All the good scientists are using Androids, plebeians.

Android - Ron - (humming)

  • Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

iOS - Brian - (humming)

  • brrrrrrrrr brrrrrr brrrrrrr mmmbbbbbboo doo doo

Legal Advice from Ira Sockman

Brian is gonna be a huge TV star soon, but he's still doing a lot of dumb stuff still. To help out, Justin brought in legal expert and friend of the show, Ira Sockman. Since Brian's new show Hacking the System deals with illegal activities, he could possibly get into some hot water with the coppers, but Ira has a solution: any time you are accused of illegal activities, just use a word that would get you 100 points in Scrabble (eg. "I wanted to rob this woman's house since I was a zygote).

Ron Richards is a Fraud that Works at Image Comics

The guys talk about how if you don't feel like a fraud, just waiting for everyone to ask "What the hell are you doing here?" then "you're a jerk". That's how Brian feels with his new TV show (premiering on Feb. 27th at 9pm on NatGeo) and that's how Ron feels at his job at Image Comics. Then they have a little chit chat about the comics industry.

Ron mentioned Chip Zdarsky who had an awesome months-long relationship with an Applebee's Facebook profile.

Brian Doesn't Want You to Cut the Cord

Hey ya know that Cordkillers show? The one with Brian and Tom? Yeah, the one that just released the How to cut the cord episode. Well Brian wants you to forget about that and call up your local cable company to make sure you get NatGeo! Because that's where you'll find Brian's show Hacking the System, premiering February 27th, at 9pm. I hear that various cable and satellite companies have great introductory offers.

Great Quotes

  • "Nat Geo - We used to show animals banging." - Justin
  • "I was born in the United States, but I gender-identify as a Britton." - Justin
  • "Texans are kinda like Jews." - Justin

Fun Facts

  • Ron Richards originally wanted to call his show "Batman Superman DC Marvel", but Ira Sockman convinced him to go with "iFanboy".
  • There was an NSFW record, three former NFL quarterbacks named in this episode: Tim Tebow, Bernie Kosar, Vinny Testaverde.
    • This record will almost certainly never be broken.
