Preshow

About 16 or 17 minutes into the preshow, Justin brought up the point that some members of the audience aren't pleased about them having brought The Belt back. I mean, didn't they leave TWiT so they could swear all the time? Well, Brian and Justin talked for a while about how their feelings regarding The Belt. It boils down to this: they don't really swear any less than they used to, they don't feel that swearing more would really make for a better show and they didn't like how they started using swearing as a verbal crutch. Also, they aren't censoring themselves, they just want to speak more good. Come on, they swear literally every show.

This segued into a short conversation about how they have lots of inside jokes that they don't explain. They're afraid that new listeners will be too overwhelmed.

Editorial by Leon: Alright, so I literally wrote the encyclopedia on NSFW/Night Attack so I'm definitely not the best judge, but is it REALLY that difficult to jump into a show with a lot of in-jokes? I feel like as a new listener, you would pick up on inside jokes quicker than Brian thinks. For example, I just started listening to Comedy Bang Bang on a regular basis and they literally have 400+ episodes of inside jokes that I've missed out on. I'm not discouraged by the references I don't get, and it feels awesome every time I pick up on an obscure reference they make. It's like I'm in a special little club. If anything, it makes me wanna go back and listen to more old episodes (By the way, I went back and listened to all the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Fourvel episodes literally yesterday. It was great. Everyone should do that.)

Again, I'm probably THE WORST person to judge the number/obscurity of inside jokes that Justin and Brian make. I really don't understand how the show is, as Brian says, "openly hostile" to new listeners. If you jumped into Night Attack/NSFW late and are/were super confused about a lot of shit Brian and Justin say, hit me up on Twitter @ImNotLeon, I'm interested. I SAY, MORE INSIDE JOKES!

Cold Open

Brian never gets sick.

What's Up With Carl Jung?

Seriously, what's up with him? I feel like he's got some issues. And what about all the other Carls? Carl's Jr. Carl Weathers. California Karl. Send your support by tweeting the hashtag #ThumbsUpCarlJung

Bonnie Hasn't Seen Lemon Party… Yet

So last week on the show, Brian and Justin exposed Bonnie to Tubgirl. So this week, let's show her LemonParty. Why not? Before they showed it to her, they asked what she thought LemonParty was. All her guesses included fruit combined with something gross like genitalia or pee pee.

After showing the infamous picture of three old dudes enjoying some sweet sweet gay sex, they all realized that LemonParty has kinda lost some of its power as a shock site as society has become more comfortable with homosexuality.

The Weekly Steven Cogswell Song

This week, Steven Cogswell put together a song from last week's episode about the Queen queefing. Listen to it!

Brian's Troubling Moth Analogy

Brian and Justin are in awe of the amount of talent that resides in the audience for their show. After praising Steven Cogswell's latest song, Brian went into an analogy comparing the show's talented fans to moths who are attracted to and killed by the bright, flame-like glow of Night Attack. Justin tried to put an end to this and made it very clear that neither of them view the audience as disposable insects that get burned up after getting to close. Brian however was intent on warning all the "moths" about getting invested in what might feel like a nice warm place to hang out, but will actually burn you to a crisp. I mean, there's no way any fan will ever put in work for the show every week for nearly six years and not get burnt out.

Mikey actually just got on Skype during this moment and thought he was one of the "moths" that Brian was referring to. Everyone made moth jokes for the rest of the show.

Quiz Time!

During the aftershow of the last podcast Mikey Neumann gave Brian and Justin some quizzes that he wrote for the Chainsawsuit podcast. He and Kris would write super dumb and surprisingly difficult quizzes for each other like "Chris Brown Tweet or Serial Killer's Last Words". They all had a really great time during that aftershow so they asked Mikey to come back every so often (like a Sarah Lane Pr0blem Solverz situation) with new quizzes for Brian and Justin.

This week's quiz is "Podcast or Notcast". Mikey looked up some podcasts and came up with some fake podcasts. He wrote his own descriptions (even for the real ones) so even the descriptions of the real podcasts will sound ridiculous, but they WILL be factual. As always, Chatrealm's resident odds maker Mitzula, has posted the lines for Brian and Justin's performance in the quiz.

Podcast Awards

So this is a strange turn of events, 14 of our favorite podcasts got nominated for the podcast awards. If you've been following the show for the past couple months, you've heard about the movement to get Diamond Club and Frogpants podcasts nominated for the podcast awards. It totally worked! The only things that went wrong were Current Geek not getting nominated and Giz Wiz getting put in the Technology category (competing with Hak5) instead of the Comedy category.

Voting starts on May 29, 2016 and you can head over to hat.t2t2.eu for more information on how to vote and who to vote for.

Diamond Time

If you want to submit your thing for Diamond Time head over to the weekly Diamond Time post on the DiamondClub subreddit. Instructions on how to format your submission can be found in the post!

Movies With Mikey

The guys talked about Mikey's movie review/discussion show Movies with Mikey. It's a legitimately great show and you need to check it out.

Why not start with the episode on The Force Awakens. You've seen that movie, right? Everyone's seen that movie.

JuRY Stickers

Hey, wanna buy some JuRY themed stickers? Head over to StickersOrDIAF.com and you can do just that! They're like $5! Plus a dollar for shipping maybe?

Aftershow

In the aftershow, Mikey stuck around to break down the video for Owner of A Lonely Heart by Yes. It was super weird. It started out as a standard 80s music video, then a minute in they literally say "There's another way to do this" and there's silence for 30 seconds while people start turning into animals, then the song starts over with an 1984 style music video.

Then they started muting the video and playing 90s sitcom themes over it. It's really something you need to experience.

Great Quotes

  • "Look at that old lesbian and the Puerto Rican boy." - Justin talking about the Night Attack Patreon picture
  • "... Lauren Ipsum…" - Justin, Brian and Mikey
  • "I don't know why more southern racists don't say 'I'm taking the N-word back, back.'" - Brian

Fun Facts

  • At the end of the show, Brian teased that he is shooting some project for the next three days that we may hear about in a month or so
