* At the end of 6 weeks of regular competition, the overall scores will determine seeding for the tournament, which will be played with head to head "Classic" matches.

This is the official home of the DarkRedeemer Rocks <> Trivia Crack League. Discussion for the league can be found at the Diamond Club Subreddit at http://diamondclub.reddit.com, or visit Chatrealm's IRC at irc.chatrealm.net. You may also use #DiamondClubTrivia on Twitter.

This page may be reached at tiny.cc/crack.

Congratulations to DarkRedeemer for winning Week 1 of the league!

Participants, please remember: no Googling, no power-ups or use of coins, and no cheating. All answers must come from you and your brain only.

What is Trivia Crack?

It's a iOS/Android app and Facebook game for general knowledge trivia. It's like Uber, but for trivia.

Want to participate?

Message Sunbun on Chatrealm, Twitter (@replies are fine), or Reddit with your Chatrealm and Trivia Crack handles.

Note that Trivia Crack has a little bit of a spam issue so if you would like reminders to when the next round is up via Twitter, let me know as well. Turn off your Trivia Crack notifications to stop the spam.

Rules

General

  • ABSOLUTELY NO GOOGLING, NO USE OF POWER-UPS, AND NO CHEATING. PERIOD. PINKY-SWEAR THAT SHIT!
  • Each contest will be a game of Trivia Crack in the challenge mode.
  • Players will have 24 hours to complete the daily challenge once it is assigned, roughly at 11PM PT / 2AM ET.
  • There will be three challenges weekly (Sunday night after JuRY, Tuesday night after NA, and Thursday night). This is subject to change.
  • Not sure on prizes yet.
  • At this time, Sunbun will officiate all rounds and will also be a participant.
  • The league officiant has the right to add or remove participants from the contest, or promote or relegate participants from one tier to another.
  • Players who do not complete three consecutive challenges in a row will be removed from the league.

Scoring

  • Scoring for each tier will be ((Players in Tier) - (Rank) + 1)x(1/z), where z is a number which represents the player's tier of participation (Tier A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, etc)
    • If the A tier had 10 players, 1st place gets 10 points, 10th place gets 1.
    • If the B tier had 10 players, 1st place gets 5 points, 10th place gets 0.5. You can figure it out from here.
    • Ranking is determined based on Trivia Crack scoring, which is based on questions correct and fastest time to complete the challenge.
  • If you don't play a round, you don't get points for that round, but will continue to accumulate points for the week.
  • Weekly scores reset weekly.
  • Overall scores reset at the end of the "season."
  • Overall scores will serve as a method of determining seeding for the endgame, currently scheduled at the end of 6 weeks of competition.

Promotion and Relegation

  • The initial tier (tier A) will have up to 30 participants.
  • In the event that the number of total participants in the league exceeds 30, the league will be split into two tiers, tier A and tier B.
  • Both tiers will initially contain the same amount of participants (i.e. the initial tier will be split evenly) and consist partly of lower-ranked participants in the top tier.
  • At the end of each week, the bottom 5 scorers in each tier will be replaced by the top 5 scorers in the next-lowest tier.
  • The number of participants in the top tier will be capped at 15. Additional tiers will be capped at 25.
  • New participants will start in the lowest-available tier (tier B).
  • The officiant will need to create the contest for each tier, so he will participate in all tiers BUT only score points in the tier which he is active.

Post-Season

  • At the end of 6 weeks of regular competition, the overall scores will determine seeding for the tournament, which will be played with head to head "Classic" matches.
  • Both players in the match must report the score of the match to the officiator.
  • If there is a dispute, the matchup will be decided via a two-person "Challenge" match with the officiator serving as the third person.

Technical Issues

  • In the event that a technical issue prevents a player from completing the challenge, the player is still able to receive points for participation in one of two ways:
    • 1) Completing an additional challenge with random participants, then submitting a screenshot of the player's final score and elapsed time to the league officiant (Sunbun)
    • 2) just ask nicely bruh (tell Sunbun which questions you got wrong, your final score, and your elapsed time)
  • "Completing the challenge" means that the player's final outcome of the day's challenge is visible to all, and the player has only completed the question set once (i.e. if you are able to re-do the challenge, don't)
  • In the event that a player cannot be located on Trivia Crack with the player's handle provided by the officiant, the player can still receive points by following (1) above within the 24-hour contest period, provided that they fix the issue with their handle.
