Dispatches From The Front

Hi, a quick message in regarding to the rumored, and horribly named service, Britflix.

The BBC has been making almost all it's content available on the iPlayer service since 2007. Given that BBC has 10 broadcast TV channels, plus many radio stations and Podcasts, that's a huge amount of content. Add that last nine years of content to even a selection of it's 89 year back catalogue: Dr Who, Top Gear, Blackadder, The Office, Sherlock, All the David Attenborough documentaries, and the content from the BBC Films arm and don't think the BBC really needs any partnering deals.

I'd gladly pay for this extra service on top of the license fee (which is currently priced at 2 Netflixes a month)

I just hope they open this up to international users so that my family in Nebraska can access their favorite soap Eastenders without the use of VPN.

Hey Tom and Brian,

I have 2 things that I want to share with you guys: 1. I think it is very possible that Soccer will take over the top spot in US sport souly because of the way that it has embraced the internet. Baseball became the most popular sport in the country when it began to be broadcast over the radio, football took over when it embraced television while baseball refused to go near it. So it would be no surprise to me if soccer takes over in half a decade just because it embraces broadcasting over the internet.

OK we do not have confirmation that this actually occurred so we're going to leave the name off this email BUT one person wrote to us saying a cable company called to upsell them and said "I can give my login to friends and family so they can login to network sites, he even went on to tell me that I could sell my login to people to offset the cost, he said his friend sells his login to two people and it covers the cost of cable. Man I new they were desperate for subscribers but I never thought that they would actually tell me to do something that is against their terms of service just to convince me to subscribe.

Hi Brian & Tom,

I just wanted to congratulate you two on your PodcastAwards.com nomination. You don't understand what a privilege it is to be nominated along side of you both. I've been listening to Tom since the CNet studios and Brian since Framerate. Cordkillers IS my Tuesday commute. :)

You guys along with Scott Johnson inspired me to talk my famous friend (Jaret Reddick - lead singer of Bowling for Soup) to start up a weekly movie review podcast (with a twist) late last year with me and it's been quite a ride!

Best of luck to you guys!

- Rich
