Happy Anniversary Roswell Incident!
65 years prior to the recording of this episode, something crash-landed in the desert near Roswell, New Mexico. It was probably just a mylar balloon, because at the time mylar was not very well known to the average person and their description of it could seem out of this world. But how do we know that the mylar industry didn't come from aliens?
"Spiro and The Fudge! We have a murder... we think"
Spiro and The Fudge get called into a crime scene where they find a dead possum on the floor. The Fudge immediately rules that snakes did it, however they find an empty jar of poison in the room as well. While this seems like an open and shut case, Spiro has a talk with friends of the show "The Possum Posse" and they conclude that there is more to the story here, because Andrew Mayne wouldn't propose such a simple scenario.
Turns out that it was a trick question because possums are immune to most poisons-- even some of the most deadly poisons we know of. Possums have a protein in them that breaks down poisons and venoms- this could lead to some very interesting research in making humans immune to poisons.
Brian's HORRIFYING Vietnam POW Story
Since Brian has a new child on the way, Andrew asks him what would be the worst thing he could think of seeing as he walks into the nursery housing his newborn child. Brian says that he would be terrified it he walked in and the baby was all blue. Andrew thinks it would be worse if there was a python wrapped around him/her.
This reminded Brian of a story that he was told by a Vietnam veteran at his high school. The man was captured and put into a pit with a python. He know that his was nowhere near strong enough to escape the grasp of the python so he had to find a way to attack its head in the pitch black pit. What he did was start punching the snake to get it to bite him so he could find the head and take out its eyes and smash its brain.
Once he defeated the snake, he managed to escape and took off sprinting through the forest. Eventually he ran into a young boy that helped direct him to civilization. After he got the information he needed, he knew that the soldiers would find the boy and torture him for helping an American soldier. So he "does the favor" and snapped the kids neck. So that's what Brian would do... the part with the snake, not murder the child. Remember, this was told at a high school for hundreds of kids.
After hearing this story, Andrew completely halted the scenario because of how horrifying Brian's story was. However, Andrew said that one of his relatives escaped from a Russian Gulag with three other men, but he was the only one that survived- he won't talk about what he did for food.
Alien Viruses NOT Involving Will Smith
What if aliens are transmitting out signals that are infecting our computers and taking control of our nuclear weapons. We know that we are (allegedly) able to create a virus that infects Iranian nuclear facilities and shut them down, why couldn't aliens do it.
What if alien signals are preventing us from figuring out things like fusion reactors to contain us and keep us from destroying us and everyone else in the galaxy.
The Amazing Spider-Man
Justin and Andrew are both over-the-top in love with "The Amazing Spider-Man" and think that it is easily the best Spider-Man movie ever. Brian however, was very disappointed. While he loved the chemistry between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey, he had a ton of complaints about the motivations of many characters, The Lizard especially. He felt that all the characters were one-dimentional and you were told who the characters were rather than shown who they are.
