- Google has outlined a plan to make HTML5 default in Chrome instead of Flash. Starting in Q4, sites that use Flash would cause a prompt to appear asking the user if they want to enable Flash for that site. The top 10 sites that use Flash would be whitelisted but that whitelist would expire after a year. The top 10 sites that use Flash today are YouTube.com, Facebook.com, Yahoo.com, VK.com, Live.com, Yandex.ru, OK.ru, Twitch.tv, Amazon.com, and Mail.ru. YouTube runs HTML5 by default already and Google will stop using Flash Display ads on January 2.

- Hello Tom and the DTNS crew,
Last week you asked if people were still using BlackBerry's, here is my story:
I recently inherited by brothers BlackBerry Leap. My intention was to back up the Leap and root it so I could install android on it. I haven't gotten around to backing it up and fully rooting it yet. What I have done is to get the play store loaded on the Leap which for the most part gives me the apps I am looking for. Eventually I am planning on rooting the Leap to put Android on it.
Without the play store the Leap has limited use for me. With the play store it is a much more useful device. - Sent by Christopher in warmer than usual Edmonton
- Hello Tom and the DTNS crew,
- Hey Tom,
I am part of a collective podcast made up of Stay at home dads - and am going to be at the Bay Area Maker Faire this weekend, Friday thru Sunday; looking for other SAHS's or makers with interesting ideas to share on an upcoming podcast. I am trying to get the word out as quickly as possible as Maker Faire has surprised me with press credentials making this a little bit more official then I originally planned.
I thought your audience was a prime group for possible people of interest, if you could please share my search and help promote our tiny podcast it would be greatly appreciated!
Your boss, - Sent by Kevin Clem
