This week: a killer card trick, complete with a twist at the end... this card trick works BETTER because it screws up!
Revision3 Summary
Introduction to The Hot Seat
The Scammer pulls out a deck of cards, shuffles them, then writes down a prediction. Cards are handed to the sucker, who picks a number between 10 and 20 and deals down that many cards. These cards are picked up, and the sucker is asked to add up the digits of his first number (for example, if it was 12, he'd add 1+2=3), and deal down that many cards.
The Hot Seat Trick Revealed
Before this final card is revealed, the magician opens his prediction, which clearly states "You will pick the 8 of clubs". But when the card is turned over, it's the 3 of spades instead! It looks like the magician is screwed, but to "fix" the problem, he holds the prediction over a flame, and magically, the incorrect 8 of clubs transforms into the correct 3 of spades!
Phoenix Tries The Hot Seat Trick
Start with the 3 of spades set up as the 10th card down from the top. No matter which number they pick from 10-20, this is the card they'll end up with. To prep the prediction, first use a regular pen to write "you will pick the 3 of spades." Then, use one of the pilot Frixion pens to draw over the 3 of spades with the 8 of clubs, and you're set!
Bonus Disappearing Ink Trick From Brian
Brian shows off with a bonus trick for your scamming pleasure.
Additional Notes
- If your mark picks 20 for the number, the trick will not work. If this happens, point out that you said between 10 and 20.
