According to the New York Times, unconfirmed reports suggest Apple are rethinking their unconfirmed and unannounced plans to build a self driving car. "In a retrenchment of one of its most ambitious initiatives, Apple has shuttered parts of its self-driving car project and laid off dozens of employees, according to three people briefed on the move who were not allowed to speak about it publicly."
Om Malik, writing in the New Yorker this week had a great piece on the iPhone's history eating into the Point and Shoot Camera Market. As Malik explains, the first great iPhone camera was the iPhone 4 - the same year instagram launched. In that year, 122m cameras were sold. In 2015, that number was 35million. Malik thinks the dual-lens system in the iPhone 7 Plus may eat into the micro four-thirds and dslr market in the same way the point and shoot market was decimated.
And the said iPhone 7 Plus HAS NOT EVEN SHIPPED YET, but that hasn't stopped KGI Securities analyst and iPhone rumour expert Ming-Chi Kuo from predicting next years models. Kuo doesn't expect to see the dual-lens camera system in next year's smaller iPhone. According to Kuo, cost considerations and a niche appeal for the dual camera, which is found only on the larger iPhone 7 Plus model this year, mean that the feature is likely to remain exclusive to "high-end" models in 2017 as well. Presumably this means the dual camera would again appear only on so-called "iPhone 8 Plus" models should Apple continue to offer similar product lineups.

The Note 7 recall has gone a lot smoother in Australia.
  • Bluetooth Headphones
Cords are the bane of tech, getting rid of them is more liberating than you expect.
Sounds quality is not as good over Bluetooth, but you're listening to a compressed file anyway, you don't care.
You're not there for gold-plated-jack sound, you're there for be-in-your-own-world sound.
And if you do want gold-plated-jack sound, they have a standard minijack.
The sound, look and feel of the B&O H7's is fantastic.
I haven't reviewed loads of these like PW, but the H5's seem great too.
  • AirPods - is this a Jobs move?
Let's not forget Jobs approved the iPod HiFi and iPod socks...
