Zombie Outbreak in Florida
Ok, maybe there aren't zombies, but a Miami man was definitely found naked, eating a man's face. As of the time of recording, it is suspected that the naked man went crazy after smoking some bath salts. Justin must certainly be feeling a lot better about moving to California after hearing this news.
Horrible, Depressing Reasons to Opt for Amputation
The guys talk about a few different cases of people that have gone through some horrible ordeals that cost people their limbs. They talk about a woman with a flesh eating disease, a man with chemical burns and a kid who got run over by a lawn mower-- some pretty depressing stuff.
Valle De Prehistoria
You know what the most awesome thing in the world would be? Creating Jurassic Park. You want to know something ever more awesome? A guy already did it in the 1980's. While this man was taking a break from denouncing capitalism, he used prison labor to construct a park filled with life sized concrete dinosaurs on his island just 90 miles off the coast of the United States. Ohh yeah, his name was Fidel Castro.
Space Boom
Hey guess what! Going into space is awesome. Andrew wrote a great article on Weird Things about how low cost space flight could radically change our lives within a decade. With launches at just $10 per pound, ANYBODY could send up a satellite into space. We could get cell phone coverage for literally every corner of the globe. However, the most important improvement we may see is in the energy industry. We can harness "unimaginable gigajoules of energy" from solar arrays in orbit.
Senate Launch System
Now that SpaceX has proven that they are capable of making it to the ISS, the world is now looking for a way to get to Mars. NASA currently has plans for the Space Launch System (SLS) which is currently slated to cost at least $18 billion through 2017 when they plan to have their first unmanned launch. Meanwhile, SpaceX says that they could get to Mars for about $2.5 billion in about the same time as NASA says they could.
