Felix Baumgartner is amazing, but seriously, what comes next? The boys make their guesses. Killjoy scientists try and kill our dinosaur dreams. Because they hate joy. And want to kill it. But fear not! Andrew has a plan that can not only make your dreams a reality, but make the argument it couldn’t have worked any other way anyhow. Hold on to your butts, it’s another Weird Things podcast!

Freefall from the Edge of Space

The day before recording the episode Felix Baumgartner and his gigantic testicles broke records for the highest manned balloon flight and the highest skydive by jumping from a balloon at about 128,000 ft. On his way down also became the first man to break the sound barrier while freefalling.

The event was sponsored by Red Bull and was live streamed on YouTube and broke records for the most viewed live stream with over 8 million people watching simultaneously.

Of course after this, the guys ask "What's next?" The guys discuss the possibility of jumping out of the International Space Station and making a safe landing back on Earth.

Ugh... Scientists are Such Killjoys

Some scientists were horsing around and decided to figure out how long DNA will stay intact after the organism has died. They found that the half-life of DNA is about 520 years. In other words after 520 years half of the DNA will have broken down and in another 520 years, half of the remaining DNA will have broken down. The study showed that after about 8.5 million years, ALL of the DNA will have broken down, thus invalidating the movie "Jurassic Park".

However, there was a recent article posted on WeirdThings.com that talked about how you don't really need T-Rex DNA in order to create a T-Rex. Scientists can take DNA from all sorts of different organisms, put them together and create literally any creature they can think of.

Best Show and Tell Ever

Andrew asks the guys what they think would be the best show and tell item ever. Andrew had a certain story in mind so they played a guessing game to figure what a certain boy found near his home.

Turns out a russian boy discovered one of the most well-preserved wooly mamoth carcases ever.
