Just when you thought the new iPad and iPhone event couldn't leak any more spoilers, turns out the date young Mark Gurman from 9to5 Mac had been told may be wrong. Business Insider notes that Apple has hired Frederic Jacobs, engineer behind the encrypted text messaging app Signal, which is used and recommended by Edward Snowden. Jacobs will be taking up a summer internship working with the coreOS security team to strengthen the security of iOS. CNET reports that the US Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday reversed a 2014 jury verdict that had found Samsung Electronics infringed on three of Apple's patents. Yes, the lawsuit that will never die refused to die. The patents in this particular case refer to Slide to Unlock, and Autocorrect, and data detection, which is the ability for a phone to recognise a date, phone number, etc, and act accordingly. The panel ruled that the first two of the patents should not have been granted in the first place and said Samsung didn't infringe on the third.
