- Hey Tom,
I ran across these sites on podcasts this week, and I thought I’d share them.
Webtorrent.io is an innovative example of video distribution.
Tryca.st is a service for audio podcast production.
Xda-developers.com/xda-labs/ is access to a new app from XDA to get immediate access to updates to apps, instead of waiting for Google’s staggered rollout. From what I understand, the app in the Play Store doesn’t have the full functionality of the one downloaded and installed from the site. Besides several “unlabeled buttons” and XDA absolutely needing to go through their app with Google’s Accessibility Scanner, I’m enjoying having this app.
BTW, I abandoned Pocketcast because of their lack of responsiveness to several emails about major accessibility issues. I have moved to PodKicker Pro on Android. The app still has some “unlabeled buttons”, but not very many. I’ve tried to contact the developer to provide help troubleshooting accessibility challenges, but have not heard back.
So, I guess another recommendation is, if you are an Android app developer, test your app with Google’s Accessibility Scanner available in the Play Store. You just might be surprised that improving the UI/UX for accessibility benefits everyone, not just those who need it.

- Pretty much everything thing you've been discussing about seems spot on.I'm a level 15 resistance agent, I've been playing ingress for almost 4 years now, I was in the closed beta. I have personally made great friends from both factions and meet hundreds of amazing people that I would have never spoken to otherwise. Since the update to the app that records how far you walk, I've walked 890 miles. Compared too many hardcore ingress enthusiasts my stats are meager.
The story line of ingress is progressive and changes due to in game events called anomalies, which trashed place around the world in a battle between the 2 factions. https://youtu.be/AsMsjSrMxhI is an example.
Let me say that I'm astonished by the sheer number of people playing pokemon go. I work at a theme park and over this past weekend we broke our budgeted attendance for the first time in a while.
I hope to see the pokemon go app get better over time and love seeing the people having so much fun with it. If it is anything like ingress it will change many lives for the better. I only wish that my beloved ingress had as much attention. - Sent by Your boss and anonymous resistance agent
