Following on last week’s story about airlines banning so-called hoverboards-- Amazon will now require all sellers of the rolly-boards to submit proof of battery and charger safety standards. Airlines have blanket-banned the devices because models often do not meet the standards and batteries are often mislabeled.
The Times of India reports Apple has cut the price of the iPhone 5S in India from Rs44,000 to RS24,999 or about US$370. List price for an unlocked iPhone 5S in the US is US$450. The 5S accounts for more than 50% of iPhone sales in India. This puts the 5S in competition with the Samsung A and E series.
Motherboard notes a post from coldhak that Twitter has notified some users that it believes their accounts have been targets of a state-sponsored attack. Twitter says it has no evidence that any account information was obtained but attackers were after email, IP address and phone numbers. Google and Facebook have policies to notify about such attempts but this is a first known alert from Twitter.

Pick of the Day

To anyone with access to a set of Google Cardboard I highly recommend the Official Star Wars app. They've just added a section with daily π r st videos, each only about a minute long but they look amazing.

I hear that you lucky people in America (not me 😢) can get free Star Wars themed Google Cardboard at the moment too, so no excuse not to try it!

Love the show,
