Cork trick is nearly impossible for them to copy!

Revision3 Summary

This week we've got a combination puzzle and magic trick, and the best part is that even AFTER you show them how it's done, they won't be able to pull it off!

Introduction to Getting Corked

Place 2 wine corks in the crook of each of your thumbs, pinched against your index fingers.

The challenge is to get each of the corks pinched between the thumb and forefinger of the OTHER hand, and pull your hands apart simultaneously.

Cork Trick Revealed

There's a bunch of WRONG ways to pull this off, so make sure to watch the video to hear them all explained: no using other fingers, no balancing the corks, no pulling them out one at a time, etc... the real trick is to over-rotate your right hand, and place the bottom side of your right thumb on the bottom of the cork (see the video for details), after that, place all your remaining fingers as described in the video, and you'll have an unusual grasp on both of the corks that will LOOK like they're inter-linked, but you'll be able to pull them straight out from one another. The effect to most people will be that you somehow just pulled the corks straight through one another!

This is the part where you clean up: offer to show them how it's done for a drink. Demonstrate slowly how its done, and then let them try to copy you. When they can't pull it off, offer them ANOTHER lesson... for another free drink!
