We’re all in-studio this week! We’re joined this week by Dr. Strange’s very own C. Robert Cargill! He’ll recap to us his many stories of working on the film and we take a look at some of the Oscar nominees.

Contents

Cold Open

Justin! You can’t play Hearthstone during the show!

Secret Project Revealed

Last time C. Robert Cargill was on Night Attack, he couldn’t talk about his secret project. He was what we like to call, “on vacation.” But now he can talk about his project, Dr. Strange! Part of the experience is being able to name drop like crazy. Showing off much? But hey, show business is pretty cool business.

10 years of film critiquing has given him a new perspective on making a movie.

He could only manage to read this review of Dr. Strange. This was the first Marvel movie the critic loved!

Grade: B-

Tough crowd, although as Justin rightly points out, that’s good for a super hero movie.

Turns out you notice your flaws and failures a lot more when it's your own movie.

The General

C. Robert Cargill notices that every time he watches cable at someone’s house, all he sees are commercials for “The General,” the car insurance company.

The Shaq has apparently also done some commercials with The General. Turns out The General is a lot bigger than you think when he stands next to Shaq.

Where’s the Beer?

Cargill brought the gift of expensive wine, not a surprise there though since he’s a major Hollywood star now.

DAVE DEGEORGE! DAVE DEGEORGE! DAVE DEGEORGE! DAVE DEGEORGE! DAVE DEGEORGE!

Never Too Young To Die

Stargrove was such a terrible movie that has such an iconic theme song.

The Oscars

That award show for movies called The Oscars are coming up, and we can’t have Cargill on without talking about some of his picks from the list of nominees. I haven’t seen any of these movies so I linked the IMDb pages for each.

Cargill thinks Denzel Washington should receive Best Actor.
SPOILER ALERT: Brian spoils the movie a bit.
Side note: Dr. Strange is up for a Visual Effects award!

Diamond Time

If you want to submit your thing for Diamond Time head over to the weekly Diamond Time post on the DiamondClub subreddit. Instructions on how to format your submission can be found in the post!

Movie Draft Chat

  • C. Robert Cargill is so good at this game! (No, no he’s not.)
  • Brian says he's won the game because of the Logan trailer.

DCTVpedia is pretty rad!

The guys were talking about whether C. Robert Cargill bought the Green Lantern back in the 2011 movie draft and thanks to MBeam we have proof thanks to the DCTVpedia, started by PDelahanty and is continuously edited by wonderful folks like Gatowag, WScottis1, and so many others. Since Leon has moved on from writing show notes, reference last episode for his note, we’ll have to come together as a community to finish the work that Leon started. All hail Leon!

After Show

The boys continued on about C. Robert Cargill choosing Green Lantern in the 2011 Summer Movie Draft. We even have video evidence! Movies, movies, movies and looking back at old episodes of Cargill on the show, are what consumes the rest of the aftershow.

Great Quotes

  • “When were you married?” - C. Robert Cargill talking to Justin.
  • “Always smell your scotch, kids.” - C. Robert Cargill
