SpaceX Hover Slam

SpaceX had been testing their Grasshopper test rockets to learn the basics of making reusable rockets. Well at SXSW Elon Musk went up on stage with the latest Grasshopper test that took it into the sky higher than the Statue of Liberty, before softly landing back on the launch pad.

The Earth is Getting Greener

Friend of the show, Matt Ridley recently talked about how, despite the rising amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, the earth is physically getting greener. With the increased CO2, plants don't need to open their pores as much leading them to retain more moisture. Also Matt theorizes that we've reached "peak farm". Today, we use about 1/3 as much farmland to feed people as we used to leading to less deforestation. This lead to a discussion between Justin and Andrew about the complex topic of supposedly eco-friendly practices.

Salacious Skype Schemes

Andrew proposes a scenario in which Justin starts talking with a foreign beauty named Sacha on the Internet. Justin attempts to determine that she's a real female human, then they get into some very sexy stuff over Skype.

After a while, Justin get an email saying that all of their interactions have been recorded and they will make it public if Justin doesn't pay up.

A string of similar schemes have been pulled off on some lonely business men around the world. While these ladies and sex tapes were real, not too far in the future, photoshops and CGI will become so good that we will have a very difficult time differentiating between real and fake pictures and videos. COMING SOON: THE JUSTIN ROBERT YOUNG SEX TAPE!

Someone Got a Job in Vatican City

So there's a new Pope. And it turns out he's a friend of a friend of the show. He's the first Pope from the Americas and the first Jesuit Pope, while he's still super Catholic, he seems to be a relatively liberal dude.

Kickstarter Strikes Again

Veronica Mars had just blew past $3 million on Kickstarter. Richard Garriot is getting a ton of money to make a new video game. These crowdfunding platforms are funding some gigantic products now. This is the first time we've seen a giant company like Warner Bros get in on the crowdfunding bandwagon. Could we possibly see more old franchises revived by fans and creators through things like Kickstarter?
