Another Goblin Story From Zimbabwe
Andrew's Google alert for "goblin" went off yet again, and once more the gob' prob' is in Zimbabwe. We all tend to giggle at the idea of goblins on the loose in the streets, but these stories are usually about all sorts of sexual assault and serious crimes. Seriously, what is the real story behind these reports? Are we missing something? If you want to be amused/confused/horrified, Google "goblin zimbabwe". You'll get some very strange stories.
Unlimited Snake Murder
As mentioned on last week's episode, there's a huge state-sanctioned python kill-fest in the Florida Everglades. Since the previous episode, it has come out that a Florida senator has gotten in on the python killing. Justin stills has the offer on the table to fund the first Weird Things listener to get in on the snake killing action.
SpaceX is Flying Private
It's been announced that when SpaceX puts humans into orbit in 2015, they'll be private citizens rather than NASA astronauts on the first flight. After a series of intentional misunderstandings, Justin and Andrew came to the conclusion that Veronica wants Hitler to be the first private citizen in space.
They also realized that SpaceX founder, Elon Musk, was born in South Africa and could have some knowledge of the African goblin problem.
Wanna Be Inseminated With Neanderthal DNA?
There's a German scientist that has an offer for females to participate in his study. The experiment will last about 9 months, he just needs a willing woman. Hearing this, Veronica is already in. Once she heard that he wants to inseminate her with Neanderthal DNA, she immediately changed her mind.
To further explore this idea, Justin and Veronica took on the role of the heads of a university in charge of approving this experiment. Justin was 100% in favor of the idea, however Veronica does not want to be responsible for a sad little Neanderthal baby. Interestingly enough, Issac Asimov wrote a book about a little Neanderthal baby in the modern world.
