The US Government is Still Paying for the Civil War
There are two people living in the southern United States getting an $865 check from the government every year. The guys play a guessing game to figure out why these people are getting paid. Guesses included "They run monkeys" and professional dowsers.
Well, after the Civil War, the government gave benefits to war veterans that could be passed down to their children. As of today, there are at least two children of Civil War vets receiving checks still receiving checks from the government. Now, these guys are from North Carolina and Tennessee. I don't know what you know about the American Civil War, but those two states were on the losing end of that war. Apparently the US government extended benefits to veterans of both sides of the war.
The Mystery of Monkey Island
Andrew was in Los Angeles to work on his show, when he discovered some signs for "Monkey Island". He asked around, but everyone said that they thought it was fake. Andrew fired up the Google machine to research further into this mystery. Turns out, Monkey Island was real and it was located on the same piece of land that now houses Joke Productions, the production company behind Don't Trust Andrew Mayne. It opened in the 1950s and had about 500 monkeys. Nobody really knows what happened to it, however a bunch of monkeys escaped and terrorized the locals. Since Andrew was so close to the area, he did a little exploring. All he found was some concrete foundation, but that's proof enough for us that Monkey Island existed.
