Ham Nation is the new TWIT show about ham radio. Bob Heil, with various co-hosts and guests will cover the excitement and importance of ham radio - from tossing an antenna wire in a tree allowing you to talk to the world, to the importance of ham radio operators in time of disasters.
The show started on May 25, 2011. It was cancelled in 2020 and the final TWiT episode aired on December 23, 2020. It is continuing outside of TWiT (and without Bob Heil) as an independent production.
Connection to NSFW
NSFW followed Ham Nation at 7:00pm PT / 10:00pm ET until mid-2012. This sometimes resulted in NSFW starting later than scheduled if Ham Nation ran for the full hour, ran long, or started late. While Chatrealm was at first somewhat hostile toward the show because they viewed it as delaying NSFW. (This was especially true during the first week at the TWiT Brickhouse when all shows were running late and some uninformed people blamed Ham Nation without realizing it was technical issues at the new studio causing the delays.) By the end of the summer, everyone came around and most people appreciated the show and had nothing but the highest respect for the very knowledgeable Bob Heil.
