"Microwave" is synonym for "microphone".

Origin

The use of "microwave" to refer to a hand-held device capable of recording audio first occurred on December 28, 2010, during the first chapter of DIAF as read by Justin Robert Young. As Justin was reading, he misread "pink plastic microphone" as "pink plastic microwave", leading to Chatrealm pointing it out.
