Corrections

  • Brian mentions off-handedly that he's left-brained, but left-brain / right-brain isn't a terribly substantiated thing.
  • While Overwatch itself is not a perfect test of reaction time, Human Benchmark was intended to be the hard numbers and Overwatch was more a test of "can you even feel a difference?"

Fun Facts

  • The censor blips in this episode are electronic interference.
  • There is a brief Crash Bandicoot sound played when Brian yelps as the TDCS is first turned on.
  • So much of the Overwatch gameplay is seen in the wide shot, because almost all of the desktop capture recorded at a very low frame rate due to an overworked CPU and lack of testing OBS beforehand.
  • There was a whole segment where Brian and Jason had trouble parsing the data of the reaction time tests, which was cut for clarity.

Great Quotes

  • Jason Murphy, "We're going to try to improve your reaction time." [long pause] Brian Brushwood, " ... good." ⁽¹⁾
  • Jason Murphy, "First time I tried it, I just--I shit my pants. And it's only happened like 3 times since I took them off, but it's fine! There's no long-term things." ⁽²⁾
  • Brian Brushwood, "We're kind of electrical geniuses." ⁽³⁾
  • Brian Brushwood, "If they can't handle the science, stay out of the lab." ⁽⁴⁾
  • Brian Brushwood, "I am the Dwight Schrute of Overwatch." ⁽⁵⁾
  • Brian Brushwood, "Super scientific, we've got wires and everything." ⁽⁶⁾
