The Vulcan Velocity and Lannisport Lions face off in what may be the wildest championship game yet. Plus, league management stunner, and new teams elevated! This episode was recorded live at Dragon-Con in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Earth, on August 31, 2012.
The guys breakdown the final between Vulcan and Lannisport. Vulcan was trailing 9-2, and in the midst of a heroic comeback Kirk was injured, and Lannisport went on to win 9-8, their first championship in their first year in the FSL. Brian Brushwood opines that the game MVP should rightly be Cersei Lannister
It is announced during this episode that Commissioner Stan Lee has been ousted from his position by "The Founders", and to be replaced by Harry Seldon. Lee blamed personal issues with a family member on his poor decision making, and he announces he will be working on a new project involving "wife swapping."
Seldon is introduced in holographic form, considering he has been dead for over a thousand years. Working well in the past, Seldon tells us he has already made all his decisions during his upcoming tenure as commissioner. He deflects criticism that future league decisions may be fixed, and re-iterates that he in no way knows bookie Shecky Green.
It is also announced that with the three teams being relegated, the Serenity Valley Fireflys and Winterfell Direwolves, as well as the Mordor Crows, who lost the relegation playoff to the Rivendell Fellowship, who the three new teams would be that would join the FSL in 2013.
One place would go to a fan vote winner, a second would go to a minor league champion, and it was unknown how the third promotion would be determined.
Veronica Belmont announced that the Gallifrey Time Lords won the fan vote and would be promoted to the FSL in 2013. It was announced that the Time Lords were also the minor league champions, so the automatic promotion for that would go to the second-ranked minor league team, the New York Avengers.
"The Founders" themselves made the decision on the third team to receive promotion, and it would be the San Francisco Federation, a new generation of leaders to represent the Federation.
